BOUSD is a suburban school district with 10 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 12 and end May 28. Brea Olinda High School, established in 1927, uses the Wildcat as its mascot and publishes a yearbook called 'The Gusher' — a nod to Brea's oil-industry origins. The district has said a complete 2026-2027 calendar — including teacher workdays — will be published soon. This calendar includes 1 professional development day, 11 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
