CV is a suburban school district with 16 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 5 and end May 28. Castro Valley High School has been named a National Exemplary School twice — in 1984-85 and 1988-89 — and a California Distinguished School three times. Calendar dates are confirmed for part of the year; the rest of the 2026-2027 calendar isn't available yet — check back soon. This calendar includes 8 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
