ERUSD is a suburban school district with 14 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 12 and end June 3. El Rancho Unified's flagship high school, El Rancho High School, chose its mascot 'The Dons' by a student vote when the school opened in 1952, beating out candidates including the Swallows, Rocketeers, and Grizzlies. The district has said a complete 2026-2027 calendar — including grading period end dates — will be published soon.
