OUEUSD is a suburban school district with 9 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin July 28 and end June 4. Oakley Union Elementary traces its roots to 1862, when Sarah Sellers — one of the city's first settlers — opened the original Iron House School in Oakley. This district follows a modified calendar for the 2026-2027 year, which starts and ends on a different schedule than a traditional calendar. This calendar includes 2 professional development days, 1 early-release or half day — useful to know when planning childcare.
