Hamden School District School Calendar 2026-2027

At a Glance

HSD is a suburban school district with 10 schools. The first day of school is August 31. Hamden High School's original 1935 building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is nicknamed 'the MOM building' due to a decorative circular window flanked by plaster banners that resemble the letter M on each side. The calendar also notes several religious observances (Rosh Hashanah, No School- Yom Kippur, No School- Three Kings Day, No School- Eid al-Fitr) for awareness — school stays in session on these days. This calendar includes 2 professional development days, 12 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.

Also known as HSD.
