WSD is a suburban school district with 8 schools. The first day of school is August 25. Westport Public Schools was founded in 1836, as noted in the district seal visible on the calendar cover. The calendar also notes several religious observances (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur) for awareness — school stays in session on these days. This calendar includes 5 professional development days, 8 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
