CSD is an urban school district with 15 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 31 and end June 11. Capital School District, centered in Dover, is home to schools in Delaware's state capital city, making it one of the few districts in the U.S. whose students live in a state capital that also hosts significant colonial-era history. This calendar includes 7 professional development days, 2 early-release or half days, 3 remote/asynchronous days — useful to know when planning childcare.
