WCSD is a local school district with 10 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 6 and end December 18. Ware County Schools serves communities across Ware County, Georgia, and its board-approved calendar notes that select holidays may be repurposed as instructional days if the district experiences significant emergency closures — a policy adopted after Hurricanes Debby and Helene and a winter snowstorm wiped out 20 school days in the prior year. This calendar includes 6 professional development days — useful to know when planning childcare.
