LSC is an urban school district with 12 schools. The first day of school is August 5. Lafayette School Corporation's Jefferson High School, known as 'Lafayette Jeff,' opened in January 1912 and its teams go by the distinctive name 'Bronchos' — an alternate spelling of Broncos unique to the school. Lafayette School Corporation runs more than one calendar program (all schools except Oakland Elementary and Vinton Elementary, Oakland Elementary School, and Vinton Elementary School) -- this page covers the all schools except Oakland Elementary and Vinton Elementary calendar; other programs follow a different schedule. The district has said a complete 2026-2027 calendar — including early dismissal dates — will be published soon.
