VCS is a suburban school district with 12 schools. The first day of school is August 12. Valparaiso High School, the district's only high school, was established in 1871 — making it one of Indiana's oldest continuously operating public high schools. The district has said a complete 2026-2027 calendar — including early dismissal dates and teacher workdays — will be published soon.
