PPS is a suburban school district with 13 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 28 and end June 15. Plymouth Public Schools' motto is 'Making dreams come true,' a nod to the district's location in Plymouth, Massachusetts — the site of the Pilgrims' 1620 landing and one of America's oldest continuously settled European communities. The calendar sets aside 2 additional days (June 16–June 21) that may be used as weather makeup days if needed. This calendar includes 8 professional development days, 12 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
