DCSD is a local school district with 16 schools. Douglas County School District runs more than one calendar program (Early Childhood Education, Elementary schools, George Whittell High School, Douglas High School, and Middle and Alternative High Schools) -- this page covers the Early Childhood Education calendar; other programs follow a different schedule. The district has said a complete 2026-2027 calendar — including early dismissal dates and teacher workdays — will be published soon. This calendar includes 1 early-release or half day — useful to know when planning childcare.
