LUFSD is a suburban school district with 8 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin September 2 and end June 25. Lindenhurst Senior High School, established in 1841, is home to the Bulldogs and was once a teaching post for TV personality Joy Behar in the late 1960s to early 1970s. The district has said a complete 2026-2027 calendar — including early dismissal dates — will be published soon. This calendar includes 3 professional development days — useful to know when planning childcare.
