LCSD is a suburban school district with 7 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin September 3 and end June 24. Longwood Central School District serves approximately 8,500 students across 13 schools on Long Island, New York. The calendar sets aside 2 additional days (May 27–May 28) that may be used as weather makeup days if needed. The calendar also notes several religious observances (Yom Kippur, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha (emergency closing if needed)) for awareness — school stays in session on these days.
