SCSD is a suburban school district with 10 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin September 1 and end June 25. Syosset Central School District serves approximately 10,000 students across 10 schools on Long Island and is consistently recognized as one of New York's top-performing districts for academic achievement. The calendar also notes several religious observances (Yom Kippur, Eid al-Fitr, Easter Break, Eid al-Adha, Diwali, Lunar New Year) for awareness — school stays in session on these days. This calendar includes 2 professional development days — useful to know when planning childcare.
