CCS is an urban school district with 86 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 24 and end May 28. Cumberland County Schools runs more than one calendar program (Traditional 10-Month schools and Year-Round schools (Anne Chesnutt Middle, Reid Ross Classical Middle, Reid Ross Classical High, E.E. Miller Elementary)) -- this page covers the Traditional 10-Month schools calendar; other programs follow a different schedule. This calendar includes 14 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
