ESASD is a rural school district with 10 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 31 and end June 9. East Stroudsburg Area School District, founded in 1891, serves students across both Monroe and Pike counties in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains region and operates two separate high schools — North and South — which share district leadership but compete against each other in athletics. This calendar includes 8 professional development days, 5 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare. The last day of school is weather-contingent, ranging from June 9 to June 10 depending on how many built-in weather makeup days are used.
