FSD is an urban school district with 25 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin July 29 and end May 26. This district follows a modified calendar for the 2026-2027 year, which starts and ends on a different schedule than a traditional calendar. This calendar includes 2 professional development days, 5 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
