YSD is an urban school district with 25 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 3 and end May 28. This district follows a modified calendar for the 2026-2027 year, which starts and ends on a different schedule than a traditional calendar. Calendar dates are confirmed for part of the year; the rest of the 2026-2027 calendar isn't available yet — check back soon. The calendar sets aside 4 additional days (October 12–June 1) that may be used as weather makeup days if needed.
