DSISD is a rural school district with 8 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 12 and end May 21. Dripping Springs ISD serves more than 8,800 students in grades PK–12 across northern Hays County, Texas. The district has said a complete 2026-2027 calendar — including grading period end dates — will be published soon. The calendar sets aside 2 additional days (March 26–April 23) that may be used as weather makeup days if needed. This calendar includes 1 professional development day, 2 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
