AISD is a suburban school district with 14 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 12 and end May 20. Azle ISD, home of the Hornets, involves its entire District Leadership Team — including campus representatives, parents, and community and business members — in voting on calendar options each year. The district has said a complete 2026-2027 calendar — including teacher workdays — will be published soon. This calendar includes 1 professional development day, 5 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
