BISD is a local school district with 7 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 12 and end May 28. Brenham ISD's teams are known as the Cubs and compete in UIL Class 5A, representing a district that serves around 4,865 students across seven campuses in Washington County, Texas. The calendar sets aside 2 additional days (April 30–May 3) that may be used as weather makeup days if needed.
