BISD is a suburban school district with 20 schools. The first day of school is August 12. Burleson ISD has served the community since 1909, growing alongside the city of Burleson just south of Fort Worth into a district of roughly 12,700 students across about 20 campuses. The calendar sets aside 2 additional days (February 12–April 23) that may be used as weather makeup days if needed. This calendar includes 4 professional development days, 3 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
