CISD is a rural school district with 8 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 13 and end May 20. Crandall ISD has been named a Best Communities for Music Education district by the NAMM Foundation. The district has said a complete 2026-2027 calendar — including early dismissal dates and teacher workdays — will be published soon. The calendar sets aside 2 additional days (February 12–April 23) that may be used as weather makeup days if needed. This calendar includes 4 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
