FISD is a rural school district with 23 schools. For the 2026-2027 school year, classes begin August 12 and end May 20. The calendar sets aside 2 additional days (February 12–March 29) that may be used as weather makeup days if needed. This calendar includes 4 professional development days, 2 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
