GISD is a local school district with 11 schools. The first day of school is August 17. Travis Elementary School in Greenville ISD was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 1987–88. Calendar dates are confirmed for part of the year; the rest of the 2026-2027 calendar isn't available yet — check back soon. The calendar sets aside 2 additional days (February 15–March 1) that may be used as weather makeup days if needed. This calendar includes 2 early-release or half days — useful to know when planning childcare.
